BOXMAN (WOMAN), A THING OF THE PAST?

More and more Vegas Strip casinos are eliminating the position of Boxman in their Craps Pits. This all started some time ago at The Flamingo and then at Treasure Island. Other major properties on The Strip are beginning to follow suit and the potential merger/acquisition with MGM buying out The Mandalay Bay Group will continue to muddy pit management with anticipated changes in floor supervisory positions. If you are a player who is concerned about protecting your comp benefits, check out the Boxman position at your casino of choice OR be sure to connect with a floor supervisor (SUIT) to make sure that your buy-in, average bet and table time is tracked properly.

VEGAS DEATH WATCH AND FUTURE IMPLOSIONS

If you are a serious player, why should you continue to play and run up comps at a property destined for implosion or that is at the mercy of the next mysterious merger/acquisition? NextShooter.com is pleased to announce its new association with Nick Christenson's CASINO DEATH WATCH web pages that track the status and future potentials of all major casino venues as well as the status of individual property ownership.

Here's Nick's recent featured interview by the folks at VEGASTRIPPING.

DEALERS BUSTING PICK THROUGH THE NEW YEAR

Many of the Strip dealers in Vegas are being booked from Christmas through New Year's straight through, working every day and with many shifts scheduled for 10 and 12 hours. One Strip casino had a letter posted on the dealer break room door, clearly stating that dealers not willing to work a specific table or not willing to work overtime would no longer be cause for probationary discipline, but cause for IMMEDIATE DISMISSAL. Interesting to note, that in this particular property, many of the dealers are senior citizens in their 60's and 70's, not to mention many who are taking prescribed medications for serious medical conditions. When playing, keep in mind that the dealers work FOR YOU. Dealer compensation is composed MORE from player tokes, than from the minimum wage or so paid by the hotel-casinos. TOKE YOUR FRIENDLY DEALER!!!

CRAPS QUIZ

Here is the answer to the December 2004 vote/quiz:

On a 2X Odds table, with a $10 Flat (Original) Bet on the 4 or 10, the most you can LAY is $40 to win $20?

Answer: The answer is mostly TRUE as it relates to the INITIAL $10 bet. You can LAY $40 to win $20, winning DOUBLE your initial bet. However, you can also OVERLAY a secondary bet up to TWO TIMES THE TABLE LIMIT to WIN the TABLE LIMIT (Maximum), though the use of an OVERLAY BET is a rare occurrence because most players do not know that they have such an option to increase bets on the DON'T SIDE.
