NextShooter.com NewsletterJuly 2004DON'T WASTE YOUR LAST BET
Many players who have been on a losing streak, have their significant other tugging on their arm, or who have to run to catch a plane at the airport make the common mistake of putting ALL the remaining money in their bankroll into a FLAT PASS LINE BET (All of it). You should always keep at least half of your remaining bank to use for FREE ODDS when making your final bet as the chances are that you or the shooter will roll a POINT NUMBER on the COME OUT ROLL. If you are indeed going to leave the table on a winning roll, you might as well try to take away as much money as you can.
CRAPS DIRECTORY - LONDON, ENGLAND UPDATE
The following notes are from our London representative. Keep in mind that YOU can help keep our directory updated by submitting updated craps table information when you visit locations distant from us. Also keep in mind that when gambling in England you will most likely need to obtain a PLAYER MEMBERSHIP to enter the casino AND an additional one for your spouse, associate, or significant other. Okay, onto the updates for London:
- Gala Piccadilly no longer has its dice table. It has been moved to the Gala Barracuda Club, 1 Baker Street, London. - The Victoria (Edgware Road, London) now only has one table. (£3-£2000) - Rendezvous Brighton Marina has upped its minimum to £3 on prop bets, so every bet on the table is now the same minimum. - As far as we know, the Sportsman Casino (Bryanston Street, London) has a £2 minimum, but we've yet to get this confirmed.
IN MEMORY
We are sad to announce the passing of one of greatest craps dealer legends in Las Vegas. Isacc "Ike" Matzas has recently passed after a series of strokes. "Ike", already in his mid to late 70's had dealt dice downtown and on The Strip for close to 40 years and was a unique witness of the transition of Las Vegas gaming from the mob days to what is now very corporate. Ike was a dealer at the old MINT, opened the old INTERNATIONAL (now The Hilton) and spent a number of years as the customer craps lesson instructor at THE STARDUST. Toward the end of his dealing career he spent a few years close to his SANDY VALLEY residence dealing at THE GOLD STRIKE in Jean, Nevada and at BUFFALO BILL'S at Stateline. A rare and unique character, he was always a helpful, courteous and informative dealer and often recognized for his outstanding service to players and customers, wherever he worked. Members of NextShooter.com are encouraged to contact us for stories about dealer legends as we are now considering the posting of a DEALER HALL OF FAME section on the NextShooter.com website.
CRAPS QUIZ
Here is the answer to the JUNE 2004 vote/quiz:
The best way to maximize your comps is to:
Get to know the BOXMAN Make Place Bets all across the Point Numbers Always take Maximum Odds on Pass Line Flat Bets Make Multiple Bets
ANSWER: "Get to know the BOXMAN"
The boxman is the person who controls your comps. Only he or she will give you credit for comps on multiple bets or on free odds. Many casinos as a matter of POLICY do not give credit for comps on multiple bets OR on free odds. And, if you are a STIFF and don't tip the dealers you can rest assured that the boxman (or woman) is going to give you the LEAST possible reign on calculating comps based on your time at the table and average bet. Your etiquette at the table and willingness to tip the dealer will have a great impact on the way that you accrue comps. Considering the fact that 66% of those responding got this answer WRONG... you really need to read NextShooter.com more carefully!
