Craps NewsletterOctober 2003WHAT IS THE RULE FOR COCKED DICE?
Die or dice that cock or lean on player wagers (chips or money) or the wall are called according to what result would be shown if the offending object were removed. The stickman is usually responsible for calling such a result, though often a dealer closest to the result will make the call. The boxman is the ultimate authority at determining a completed result.

WHERE DID YOU LEARN?
Who Taught You How to Play Craps?
Did you learn how to play Craps in the military, playing street dice, at a lesson offered by the casino, or the hard way...by investing your hard-earned money at the tables? Chances are that whoever taught you how to play this game told you how to make a Pass Line Bet for starters, then told you that you could back up that bet with Odds after a Point was established and then explained the Come Bet. Later, you learned that you could "Go Up" directly on any Place Number of choice and what the relative pay offs were for those numbers... 4,5,6 8, 9 and 10. Same with Don't bets... a procedure was explained and the relative pay-offs. But did ANYBODY ever tell you what the relative HOUSE ADVANTAGE PERCENTAGES were for all of those wagers? OF COURSE NOT! How many years have you been playing craps and making secondary bets that are WORSE than your original bet? Find out the HOUSE ADVANTAGE on ALL wagers in our list of craps bets
3-4-5x ODDS: DEAL OR RIP-OFF?
Are 3-4-5x Odds good or bad? It depends on whether you normally take full odds, and the table odds offered at the casino you normally play at. Read more in our article about 3-4-5x Odds.

CRAPS QUIZ
Here is the answer to the September vote/quiz:
The first thing that a player should do when approaching the craps table is look at the posted table odds, minimums and maximums.
You should probably do all three options. And the main reason that you want to look at the table signage is to obtain the POSTED TABLE ODDS. Though you may be interested in the minimums and maximums of the table offerings, your best leverage for maximizing your bank and for WINNING, is selecting a casino of choice that offers the best TABLE ODDS.
